U joints and sway brackets? Or vice Versa

My 04 Wrangler shakes like crazy at 55mph. The dealer wants to charge just under $1000 for new u joints and sway brackets (?) I don't even know what they do and he speaks a different language. Can anyone explain this to an auto impaired person in a language I can understand? Thanks!

According to the TSB for this problem, if there are worn front end parts repair them first, then Install revised steering damper. Part#52088959AB. This should eliminate the shimmy!
