2001 Jeep Wrangler Help

My jeep started making weird banging noises underneath. When I went to downshift, it went into gear but made a horrible scraping noise with minimum advancement, all gears doing the same.

Could be many things, but it sounds like the clutch isn't engauging completly. Would you say the noise is similar to when you grind gears by not having the vehicle's clutch in a 100%? It's the first place I would start to look if I was in your shoes.
