THis is an absolutely great Jeep. Driving down the freeway 60-65 MPH when the oil gage went from its usual 40 LBS to up around 80LBS. When I let off the gas the pressure drops down to its normal 20LBS at idle and when I shut off the car it goes to 0. Back out on the freeway was staying normal for about 5 minutes then went back to 80LBS. Does this sound like gage problem, sending unit problem. I checked the oil and it is clean as a whistle. Change it 4K to 5K. Could the pump be creating this. Runs great no engine heat everything seems normal. My first inclination is the gage went haywire. Any suggestions? Thanx!

Well the only way to know what it is or isn't doing is to remove the sending unit and put a mechanical guage in for testing and drive it and see what it is really doing. This will answer everything.
