Some say it is the ECM, I have changed fuel filter, fuel strainer, fuel filter, spark plugs, ignition coil.

Ive changed fuel pump, filter, strainer, ignition coil, rotor, rotor cap and spark plugs. It will die when driving after time, and wont start up again for about 4-10 minutes, once it starts it runs fine until the next shut off. Except that I hear small backfiring noises also. Idle seems a bit unsteady.

Did you try the pick up? Has the check engine light come on? You have replaced just about everything, so we need to look at other things.
