My model is the 5 cylinder 2.7 Diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee.
We recently got a warning light telling us that there was water in the diesel fuel. Jeep mechanics replaced the fuel filter. A week later it happened again. This time Jeep tells us that they need to remove the fuel tank and drain the fuel completely out of it. Now my question is this. Do they really need to remove the tank completely; can’t they just drain it out?

Many thanks John

Hi there,

it will be easer to remove the tank and flush it out completely, you will not remover all the contaminated fuel by draining alone, as it is impossible to fully empty the tank with out removing first.
