I recently had my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee in for an oil change & tire rotation at which time the shop informed me that I had a busted inner CV boot on the LF & RF. I declined the work and approx 8 days later while I was driving the left front tire of the vehicle came off. The shop is claiming that the CV boot caused this to happen and they further stated once they noticed the busted CV boots they did not rotate the tires. I have sought the opinion of other mechanical shops and have also had another mechanic look at the vehicle & they have advised that the lug nuts were not properly secured on the wheel & they bore a hole into the aluminum wheel until it came off & that a busted inner CV boot could not cause the wheel to sheer off. Can you advise if this information is correct? :
