1992 Jeep Laredo Four Wheel Drive Automatic 226000 miles

after I drive for a while the coolant starts to shoot from around the cap. Im not sure if I should just replace the cap because its old or worn, the res because the threads could be a little worn, or its a whole intirely different problem I need to deal with. The jeeps runs and drives fine and doesnt seem to have any other indication that it could be overheating because the gauge looks fine and operates

The cap can be pressure tested, but sounds like there is a problem that should be addressed. The gauge may not be reading accuratley, so an overheat condition may be present with out the indication from the gauge.
