On flat terrain highway at speed limits with either cruise on or holding pedal at steady speed. Have noticed rpm indicator fluctuates 350-500rpm, although speedometer varies 3-5 mph. Car recently had tune up 5k miles ago. Has had regular maintenance (all fluids changed) 3k miles ago. TIA

I think you are starting to have an issue with your crank sensor. It doesnt trigger a light, but when it goes bad you will begin to see an issue with the rpm, as it monitors the crank shaft. I would say there is a possibility for the vss(vehicle speed sensor) to possibly have a part in this, but it usually triggers a light so I would focus on the crank sensor. Have them put it on a scan tool and monitor the sensor, this will tell you that it is weak.
