Woulda been nice if you had mentioned the "big items" you were gonna purchase.......might coulda saved you 20% or so, and you still could have picked them up locally in about an hour

I have a 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo v8 4.7?
It runs great but every now and then my engine light comes on. When the light comes on it doesn't rev right. If I speed up it, when it gets to 3000 rpms it jerks. If I stop at a stop light it doesn't idle right and stalls out. It only acts up when the engine light clicks on. Any ideas would be much appreciated?

get the codes will help in the diagnose

Had it scanned and it came up with to many results. Mechanic wasnt sure, they though it could be needing new spark plugs.

Tune up is always a good place to start
making sure engine tuned up and in good running condition is always a plus
if you can get the codes that will help also
