Transmission problem
2000 Jeep Cherokee 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

I have a Jeep Cherokee 2.5 td limited 2000.

The engine runs well, but on every journey at around 5 miles the engine suddenly dies and only when I come to a complete stop and turn the ignition off, then on again it starts straight away

I have changed the fuel and air filters

Any ideas?
Cheers
Del.

Jeeps have been known to have their coils go bad. When it quits, see if it has spark. If not, re-post and I'll tell you how to diagnose it. Likely cause of your problem

I'm terribly sorry. I see the 'td' now. I suppose that stands for turbo diesel. Guess there's no coil, huh? Well, let's try again. Those engines are controlled by a computer. You're going to need to access the PCM and check the trouble codes. Let's start there.
