1999 Jeep Cherokee A/C Repair Estimate

Air Conditioning problem
1999 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 122K miles

Our A/C died and I would like to know what I should expect to pay to get it fixed either at a local mechanic or at the dealer. I tried to get the A/C system recharged at Jiffy Lube but they couldn't do it because they said the refrigerant was not recycling.
