Heater problem
1998 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I get very little heat from my heater even though the temp gauge is in the proper range leading me to believe I need to replace the thermostat. Where is the thermostat housing located on the 1998 4.0 liter V-6? Thank you.

Check also the heater core if its clogged-up

Thermostat location: Very easy front center of the engine there is the thermostat housing where the top heater hose and top radiator hose come together. Remove this (2 or 3 bolts) and your thermo will come right out.

Step 1 - A heater cannot operate unless the engine is full of coolant/antifreeze. If coolant level is low check the system for leaks.
