I think there might be a block in my heater core or radiator. Occasionally, when I hit the gas after warming up in the winter I hear a flushing, draining or gurgling sound coming from the dash. Also, the heater seems to be less warm if the fan is all the way cranked up -- it feels hottest when the fan is on low speed. If it IS clogged slightly is it safe to get it flushed?

I flush out my coolant system every other year.
And I back flush the heator core by running the hose slowly in the output hose. So the water is running backwards thru the heater core, and draining out the input hose.
If you own a Jeep, you should visit NAXJA. Com
just register and then use the search function for "radiator". You will get many posts talking about radiators, overheating, etc. If you can't find what your looking for, post your question. You will typically get responses within the hour helping to explain how to do these thing s your self.
I drain my system at the radiator petcock. Some people disconnect the lower hose. Then I flush it with the garden hose until everthing is running clear.
And then I mix 2 gallons of antifreeze with 2 gallons of distilled water, and fill it back up. Run motor, check resevoir level, add as needed.I also change the thermostat when I got through this process.
Your vehicle will love you for it. Change your hoses also if they are old.
