I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 1993, with 140k, the jeep had sat for about a year and a half with about 1/8 tank of gas in it, the fuel filter that it came with was pretty clogged to the point that eventually it caused my jeep to not start, I went ahead and replaced it, it started right up and ran great! I parked it, and now it wont start again, I figured maybe this filter clogged up too so I changed it, but when I cut into it it was clean, and the jeep will not start with the new filter either. There is fuel going to the engine and the pressure is perfect. What could be wrong?

Would it just stop sparking all of a sudden though? The thing was running great and then just died out, another note, the tach is reading 1.5-3 when I turn the key on, it slowly "idles down" back to 0 when I crank it over. I will check for spark though, thanks for the fast reply!

When he tachometer acts funny, it indicates a fault with the sparks ignition system and most probably the ignition coil and/or related parts have failed.

When this happens, it would stop sparking suddenly.

Okay, thank you, I am going to swap out the coil with one I have from another jeep 4.0, if it starts right up I will go ahead and order a new one. Thank you very very much.
