My turn signal works fine except that the lever does not return to center after the turn, I always have to turn the signal off manually, or drive around with my blinker on. I have taken the steering column apart, but cannot find what might be causing the problem. I know the steering column was taken apart before and I don't know if it has worked since or if it may be missing a part. What could be causing this?

The switch needs replaced. There is a tang that is bumped when the steering wheel returns to center that turns the signal off. It isn't uncommon for them to break off after time and this happen.
