Malfunction Indicator Lamp

I have a 2000 s-type jag. 3.0. The malfuntion indicator lamp warning light came on. What is wrong with the car? I have noticed for a while that the car doesn't have the same speed or pick up like it use to.

The ECM isnt happy with something, have the ECM scanned for trouble codes
