2000 Jaguar S-Type won't accelarate

I have a 2000 jaguar s-type 4.0 car was working fine until last night I started the car put it in gear but it wouldn't accelarate. And the check engine light came on. If I put the car in driver or reverse it will move just at the speed any other car would with out accelerating but when I press the gas peddle it won't do anything

Sounds like it could be a fuel pump or Mass Airflow Sensor

The car is in limp home mode when the computer sees a major problem it locks the trans into 4th gear only limp in mode. There is a hard fault in the computer. Usally a throttle motor or trans fault will cause this
