1993 Isuzu Rodeo Question intermitten starting no power

I have a 93 isuzu rodeo the vehicle starting acting funny on me with rpms going up and down all over the place while driving and started loosing power after about 3 days of back and forth to work it stopped running I changed the plugs wires and all 3 coil packs and got the vehicle to run again for a day and it ran rough and had no power I was curious as to what other senearios it could be before I start takeing apart the front of this motor to see if thde chain is bad

I have a 95 rodeo LS with a manual transmission that is doing the same thing. We have replaced the spark plugs, wires, coil packs and timing belt and it has made no difference. It is actually starting to run even worse and backfires alot. Having a mechanic look at it tonight. Will let you know what he says.
