Transmission not going into reverse?

This truck has been meticulously maintained and has never had any issues except last year when we thought it ran out of gas but ended up being a fuse. It's been running perfectly, but I haven't driven it for a week and all of a sudden, it's not going into reverse. It feels like it's neutral and the R is blinking. We've never seen this before. It will drive forward but extremely sluggishly. Told a transmission fuse. Would you agree?

This could be, but it sounds like a shift solenoid is stuck open or not working. We need to run the codes to help guide us to the problem. Here are instructions on how to do so. You can get a code scanner from Amazon.
