1996 Infiniti Q45 Camshaft position sensor

My q45 runs great for a while then start surging and cutting out. The camshaft position sensor code popped up and After my mechanic cleaned it and reset the light it came up again and did the same cuttiong out. I went ahead and replaced the sensor but it still does the same thing.

Hi there,

I would be checking the sensor plug for a loose pin or corrosion and doing a continuity & resistance check back to the ECU, checking for a damaged or high resistance wire, start here.
