This is regarding my 1996 Buick Regal with 3800 engine.
Last fall I had fuel pump and filter replaced after intermittent warm starting issues. Issues got worse, but mechanic couldn't replicate issue until the car began to stall.

Now, 5 months later I seem to be experiencing some similar issues. I've noticed a rough idle at times and problems trying to start after sitting for a medium length of time (maybe 60-90 minutes). Starting issues go like this: It will crank ok and fire but rumble and sputter at low RPMs for a couple seconds before revving up to a normal range. It died once but started up right after. Cold starts are perfect.

It seems like it's a fuel issue again. But it seems hard to imagine it's the fuel pump since that was just replaced.. I'd like to bring it in but am doubtful the mechanic will be able to recreate the issue since it's intermittent. There are no codes. Any advice?

Check for a vacuum leak and check fuel pressure with a gauge, the cheap ones are for crap so go with delco even though they may be more expensive. Fuel pressure 48-55 psi and not drop more than 10psi after engine shutdown.
