Car starts fine, but after reaching running temperature, key light on dash comes on and you have to stop and let the engine cool down for about five to ten minutes, then you can start it back and drive for a little while. Then key light starts flashing again and I have to repeat the process.

Hello,

This sounds like engine coolant temperature sensor that is going out, but to be sure lets run the codes to see what comes up.
