My car ran fine 1 week ago, no problems at all. Then I think it was turned on in gear and jumped and now it wont go into gear. If the car is off and you put it gear, when you start the car it seems like the clutch is not in at all and it jumps forward and is killed. If the car is on and in nuetral, and the clutch is pressed all the way down, you can not stick it in any gear, and if you try it makes the grinding noise.

Can I make this kind of repair without dropping the engine out and removing the transmission? What do you think the issue is? Some say Clutch, some say Throw out Bearing

First thing it to see if clutch hydrualics are working.
Does pedal feel normal pressure, slight resistence when pushed. If not master or slave may have failed.
The mileage you have I would not be surprisede that a clutch is in your future.
