Please can you advise how I go about removing the rear heater from my 1995 Nissan Serena 2.0L SLX? I would like to free up some floor space. Can I simply unscrew all the mounts disconnect/cut the 2 pipes that enter from the floor and cap them? Or do they need to be rejoined? Will this affect the engine cooling?

thank you

Yes, just disconnect and remove. For capping the hoses, I would suggest capping them at the front rather than the rear. This would eliminate unnecessary coolant passages that are dormant and reduce risk of leaks.

Thanks for the response. Will I need to drain the whole system to do this? The pipes I've seen so far appear to be copper so I can't simply clamp them.

Normal procedure is to drain but I would normally disconnect the hose to drain. There are plugs available for you to cap over the pipes where the hose has been disconnected.

This vehicle has plenty of hoses and pipings which are a nightmare when they start to leak.
