Installed new water pump, heat sensor and thermostat. Was a lot of rust in radiator. Temperature hand goes above normal but doesn't run hot. Loud noise when I stop at stop sign or when I slow to make a turn but never hear it while driving. Do I need to flush my radiator?

Good afternoon,

Yes, you do. You need to get all the rust out of the system as that rust may be clogging the cores in the radiator itself.

A simple flush may not take care of it. You may need a shop to do an acid flush where they use an acid-based flush and force it through the radiator.

In the worse case, the radiator would have to be replaced to get the circulation back.
