I can't seem to figure out this problem that has occurred two times now. The car is driven thirty miles and turned off. Then if you may want to start again, it cranks over but won't restart. After waiting ten minutes, it will start as normal. I checked the battery voltage and this was 11.19 volts as I thought a low voltage would affect the electrical starting system. I have just replaced the fuel filter and a new fuel tank and fuel pump. The car has normal operating temperature. If anyone has a suggestion for this, that would be great. Thank you.

Good afternoon,

The battery is almost dead. it needs to be 12.4 to 12.6 volts. this could be the entire issue but needs to be confirmed.

What is the voltage when the engine is running?

Thank you Roy. The car wouldn't start again after thirty miles of driving. After it had completely cooled down then it starts. The battery voltage without the motor running was 11.94 volts. I checked with the engine running and the volts were jumping way out of control and could not get a steady reading. From 4 to 19 volts. The readings were all over the place. Once again will not start at normal operating temperature. Don't know what to fix the problem. Checked fuses, okay. Runs fine at the operating temperature but when car is shut off will not start. You might have an idea.

I have no way of paying for advice on disability and senior citizen and really hate to ask questions about my car problems. I try to do all my repairs if I can. I really appreciate advice to help me out. I have three vehicles to fix at times.
