Running extremely hot. What could it be?

I have a 1994 lincoln town car that is running extremely hot. What could it be?

Hello,

An engine can overheat due to several reasons.
It could be for being low on coolant, a stuck closed thermostat, faulty water pump, inoperative cooling fan, bad radiator. It can also overheat due to a clog in the cooling system.
Typically, the engine can overheat anytime there is a coolant circulation issue.
