See attached picture. This hose keeps coming detached and causes the car to shake and the brakes to be very hard to press. What is this hose for and how is it supposed to stay connected?

I need more pictures to tell what it is. But it looks like the retainer clip is broken. I can tell for sure if you upload more pictures of the connection and area. Please let me know.

Thanks for the pictures. This is for the fresh air system for the engine. I would use epoxy glue to put it back together. You should be okay. Let me know.

Yes, that hose goes to the electric vacuum pump for the brake booster. Does it pop out from the intake? Let me know. I have a good friend at Volvo in the parts department but you will need to send me the VIN number in a private message to see if the clip or the intake manifold needs to be replaced if the hose is popping off the intake.

Also send us a picture of the hose disconnected to see if the hose itself is damaged? You may just need the hose assembly. Will see if I can get you part numbers. I do some side work for his car and his family. Just depends on what mood I catch him in.
