Hi there,
i have a honda delsol 1992 (15 vtek) and I have transmission problems. The 2nd gear slips, and on bumpy roads, it tends to pop back to neutral, unless I push the gear knob. And I have a nasty noise on the second and third gear. I dicided to buy a new clutch. Which do you think is the best clutch to buy for this model?

thanks in advance and keep it up! Your help is much apriciated

thanks nathan ( awm. Vella@gmail. Com )

Hi Nathan,

The 2nd speed jumping to neutral is not a fault with the clutch whereas the slipping is. Replacing the clutch is not going to rectify the jumping out of gear. You would need to check the gear linkages and engine mounts and if good, the trans would need a rebuild or replacement.

OEM clutches are the one I would recommend as replacement.

The second speed synchronizer gear itself would not cost much but if the hub and gear set, then it would cost $371.33 with labor time of 8.6 hours.

Hi there,
sometimes, it's hard to put the first gear from idle. Same with the reverse.

This happens randomly but not often.

Thanks for your help!
Keep it up

This is an indication of the clutch disc freeing itself late and is due to lack of lubricity on the clutch shaft splines. You would need to remove the transmission to do it.

If you keep forcing and crashing the gears, then yes, it can cause a lot of damage.

When trying to engage 1st and reverse, depress the clutch and wait 2 seconds before shifting. It should reduce the crashing.

Hi there,
just a quick question.
Is it ok to top up my car with engine oil frequently?
I top it every 2 months ( give or take )

my car burns oil and my mechanich told me its from the oil seals and until I fix the problem I am topping up whenever I see it a bit low.

Thanks very much and keep up the good work guys !
Keep it up

Constant topping up is not a problem, not topping up will be if it is leaking or consuming oil.
