Last week I had to have left and right drive shafts replaced. They managed to get second hand ones. It cost me £733. Yesterday the car collapsed onto the front right wheel. I am now told it is wear and tear of what sounded to me like a "bouyjoint"?
I am told it has nothing to do with the previous problem. Is this right? Should it not have been detected during the work on the car? I was told it was safe to drive and the next problem likely, would be the gearbox.
I simply cannot pay more!
At the moment I am waiting for the garage to collect the car.
Thank you
Ellen

Hi Ellen,

It should be the balljoints, lower control arm ball joints.

Problem should have been detected when the CV shafts were replaced or they did not tighten the holding nut. It has everything to do with the repair job.

I would make some noise regarding this. If the ball joint is bad and the vehicle has collapsed on one side, you CANNOT drive the vehicle.
