2007 Honda Civic Noise

My civic always runs rough and has now started making a whining noise upon acceleration, it is coming from the engine area and stops when the car is stopped. What is this and is it serious?

Running rough, and whining while driving are caused by seperate parts. Have you ever had a transmission flush? If so, was any additive put in? Also, an axle not properly seated can give a whine, and a leak. Have you had anything repaired lately? Keep in mind, hondas last along time when properly maintained. I dont know how you take car of this vehicle, and thats a key component in helping us help you.
