When I bought my car, it already has the clunking sound when the car hit bumps. It's only for certain bumps. When it rains, I hear it even less. I tried searching for forums but I only found different problems, not just one.

I want to make sure I got the right problem before spending money to fix it.

Hi there,

You will have to get the entire suspension checked over, I feel that it will be either a worn suspension bush or a faulty strut, as you say it is less when whet, I would be checking the bushes first as often when they are wet that are not as noisy if faulty, acts a a lubricant, start here.

Thanks Mark, I'll try to find time to take it in for an inspection. Is this common for civics? So usually it's either the strut, or the suspension bushing? Where's the bushing located? Is it the strut mount? It's just that I've never dealt with suspension before. It is the stock suspension by the way.

It kinda felt like its the shock but not sure. If I just push on the car it felt pretty normal. When I drive and hit a bump, it has a clonking noise. Like I said I don't hear it as much when it's raining.

Would it be wise if I just buy a new coilover kit that comes with the coilover, strut, gas? And buy a new strut mount?

Anyhow, I'll get it checked out. Thanks Mark.
