Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1996 Honda Civic 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 168k miles

I recently changed out my front axles. The car never made the noise before but now when I start out with a semi-quick release of the clutch, I get a clunk sound and feel from the drivetrain. It also shakes and feels like something's loose when driving on the freeway. Could one of my new axle bearings be bad? Could it be my transmission? It never did this before I changed out the axles. Any ideas? Thank you.

You might have two separate issues here.

The cluck is most likely a loose/worn out engine mount. The vibration could be a few things:

imbalanced wheels, a bad tire(s), bent rim, faulty axles, bent suspension component such as a warped hub.

Personally, I would go over the work that was done, make sure EVERYTHIGN is tight, shake up the front wheels to ensure the balljoints/tie rods arent loose.
