1997 Honda Civic popping sound while idling

My car is making a popping sound while idling and it's making that same popping sound while accelerating and it make my car to hesitate. When the popping sound goes away the hesitation goes away also.

Hi mfgarcia68,

The engine is misfiring and it could be the spark plugs or related items such as plug wires.

Check for presence of oil in plug tubes.

I replaced spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor and still making popping or sputtering sound on idle and it sputters when I'm gunning it only.

Was any repairs carried out prior to this occurring?

Is there any difference to the severity of the popping after replacement of the parts concerned?
Are the spark plug wire OEM?

Have you checked the ignition timing?
