hey I bought a 92 civic that was supposed to have had the clutch redone 18k ago anyway

what the car is doing

The clutch pedal's engagement doesnt stay constant, sometimes its about 1/2 down othertimes its engaging right off the floorboard, Im not sure why that is. I dont think its slipping but im not too sure, I know that say at 30mph in third gear if I let off the gas and let the engine slow me down the car kind of tugs forward. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I'm thinking I need to replace the master/slave clutch cylinders but im unsure, my fluid levels are not going down that I can see. Maybe I need a clutch kit, I really dont know.

oh and when the pedal does mess up if I push it down again and let back off it normally fixes it, and it does it mostly at red lights and stuff.

thanks

Hi there,

Check the slave cylinder for leaks, if there is any sigh of leaking under the rubber boot, replace it, also check for the same with the master Cly, look under the dash where the pedal push rod is, check for any signs of fluid leaking, id ok, try re bleeding the system, and if it persists replace the master.
