My honda has a leaking problem near (possibly) the gas tank. What could this be, tends to leak more when there is not a lot of gas in the tank (less than 1/4). Is this something I could fix on my own? Also my car takes several turns of the key to start. Could this be the starter and how is this fixed? Another problem is the largest one. My car when started (especially the first time of the day) it squeals. I intially thought this was a belt, but the mechanic said my belt was fine and that it is my AC Comprssor, and that it will cost over 600 dollars to fix? Is this something I could fix myself? How would I do this process? Thank you.

There is a lot more sloshing around as the tank gets lower. I would check the rubber hoses associated with the filler, etc. You need to determine where it is leaking at.

Start with battery and ground connections. Check the starter connections. After that a failing ignition switch can be a cause. However, I might consider other issues such as a leak in the injectors delaying start as the system has to be repressurized.

The squeeling. Does the A/C work? If not, and you don't intend to use it or fix it, take off the belt. If it works, try starting without the A/C turned on. Does it still make the noise? With the belt off does the pull rotate freely on the A/c compressor?
