This is a 2000 Honda Accord LX, Front Wheel Drive with Automatic Transmission.

One 'SRS' Red Sign has just come on the dash-board? It's not blinking.

What's that sign for? Why has it come on dash board? What is required to be done so that this red sign 'SRS' goes off like it was before?

Is there any problem if I keep driving the car with this red 'SRS' sign on? Will it affect the performance of the car?

How soon or how late do I need to get the car inspected by someone with this red 'SRS' sign on?

Hi YP SOOD,

SRS = Supplemental Restraint System, meaning the air bags.

An error has been detected in the airbag system and the air bag control module is turning the indicator light on to let you know about it.

You need to retrieve the truble codes to find out which subcomponent of the system is malfunctioning. If the horns are not working, the cable reel is the prime suspect.

Problem affcets the airbag system and is not related to engine performance and vehicle can be driven without any problem, except that the air bag has been disabled and would not work when required.
