Ok, my mechanic says that the throttle sensor is bad and needs to be replaced but said that the entire throttle body needs to be replaced. Is this the case and do you know the rough estimate for the cost?

The throttle sensor is build into the throttle body so you have to replace the throttle body assembly.
The throttle body cost about $500 and labor about $130 at the dealer. You can buy it online for $358 and DIY.
