I have a 99 accord v-6 with 85000 miles ok here is the scenario drive about 15 miles and park on a slight hill facing down, not to steep, when I try to re-start the car get a rough idle and stall, re-start again and maybe a third time and will catch with a rough idle then run fine. The car will start and run on a flat surface just fine 100 times over, on this slight hil it will act up, I have run injector cleaner and changed the plugs and wires problem still persists any advice.

Hi carsoncam1,

Thank you for the donation.

Does this occur at any sppecific fuel level in tank?

Do you need to crank the engine for prolonged periods after the vehicle has been sitting for extended periods?

The problem happens at any fuel level, fuel level is usually about half tank or lower but not on empty. Will not happen any time else, after prolonged time between starts, or wet or hot weather. The only common thread is the parking on a slight grade. Will cause a rough idle a several attempts to run smooth. Honda tech seems to think maybe throtte body or egr but egr was replaced about two years ago.

I do not think it is anything to do with the EGR or throttle body.

The fuel pump is the more likely cause. Check the filter and fuel pump hoses for pressure leaks.
