Controls seem to be working ( can see fan icon chaging ) up and down as pressed. All controls seem to work but ac does not come on and fan does not blow.

Hi bucr8zy,

If the compressor is working, then check for a blown blower motor fuse.

Give the blower motor a few knocks and if it works, change it.

Hi bucr8zy,

If the compressor is not working. Most probably the control panel is faulty.

A week ago early in the am, a cup of coffee slid down the dash and poured right into the radio/HVAC control panel. The radio still works but non of the HVAC controls function.

I have checked a number of fuses but have found nothing blown. Can you advise (1) which fuse is the one that supplies this panel? (2) what else might be the problem and how to fix it?

Thank you,

Kerry

Hi varkonda,

The fuses for the HVAC are
Under dash
Passenger side
# 13 ( 7.5 A )

Driver side
# 3 ( 7.5 A )

If fuses are good, the control could have been shorted out by the coffee.

Hi davicheema,

Clock and heater control panel uses the same circuit as dash illumination and most probably the bulbs are fused. You need to remove them to check/replcae bulbs.

Air condition light and all lights on cabin climate control sometimes will be not lit, and although air will blow it will not be cold. After shutting off the car and restarting the control lights will now be lit and the climate controls will will work as normal with cold air blowing again. This problem happens about one time a week.

Hi mikecu1,

Quite likely the control panel is faulty causing the problem. It could be a poor ground connection or the printed circuit board of the control panel is bad.

Recently, the dash lights on the AC panel do not come on upon starting the car or go off after using the AC for awhile. The fan will still work but blows hot air. When the lights illuminate, the AC works perfectly. The situation happens infrequently but seems not to work on the hottest of days. Usually when sitting over night, the light panel and AC seems to always work the next morning. Ideas of what it is and repair cost?

Hi luchango,

I suspect the AC control panel has a bad circuit somewhere. I would try to get a used unit.

Electrical problem
1998 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

While driving car the A/C will work fine sometimes and sometimes not. The blower still blows. It's actually the A/C panel that goes out. Control panels will not light up or function. The control that is used to chagne air circulation from outside to inside will not work, nor the defrost, A/C on/off, or any of the controls that operate air direction. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it working and kicking off, or being off and kicking on? We have checked a couple of fuses and the appear to be okay. My brother-in-law seems to think that there may be a short. All other electrical seems to be working. Please help.

Hi frank ratliff,

There is a possibility the control panel is faulty. The internal printed circuit board is intermittently not connecting. This problem does occur on the model.
