My son tried to install a new stero but was unsuccessful so I took it to Best Buy, but while driving it to Best Buy the transmission started slipping real bad, I barely made it. It took about 3 hours for the install and then I drove home with no problems, no slipping at all. Then it slowly started slipping again and now it slipps alot, almost undrivable. Could this be a electrical problem?

Hi Dan Bohl,

I am not sure the trans used is the fully electronic type or the one that uses a trans throttle cable.

However for both trans, if it is electrical, the D4 light ought to be blinking.

Did you check the ATF level and is the fluid clean?

If the oil strainer is clogged, it will slow down after driving for some time and would completely slip. Stoppiing the car and restarting would get going again for a while.

While installing the stereo, was the ECM and TCM removed? Check for loose wire connectors and groundings.
