1996 Honda Accord temperature gauge

The temperature gauge keeps going to the red mark every time the car idles when driving (stopping at a light etc.)I've had a new radiator, thermostat, put in this car. I've had the line blown out to make sure coolant is going to the engine as it should. I don't know what could be causing the gauge to rise up. Also how long should the fans continue to run after the car has been turned off.

Hi ephcoley,

When the fans keeps runnig after tuening off the engine, it means the coolant temp is high.

Check the water pump, you might need to replace it if it is not providing the pressure to get the coolant moving in the system.
