Ok, I have had the car about 2 months now and have had the spark plugs, ignition and sparkplug wires replaced, full synthetic oil put in, and a tune up, I even passed NC inspection. So tonight I was sitting at a stop sigh and all of a suddent something felt wrong, I took a right onto a 45MPH road and as accelered the car viberated very bad, thought I had a flat pulled over checked, no flat tire. Anyways I get the car to my grandma's (closest person I had to drive it to) turn it off and take a look underneth the car, the bottom of the engine was glowing hot red. And just as I opened the hood BANG, sounded like someone litteraly fired a gun underneath my engine. Keep in mind the engine had been off for 5+ minuted and wasn't on when I poped the hood. That is my story Please help any way you can, thank you

HI there,

I feel that it was the exhaust glowing red, this can be a faulty cat converter, but the bang is a worry, possible igniting air/fuel mixture in the engine due to the over heating, now. Dose the engine still run, is the coolant and oil levels ok? Have you done a scan? Do a comp test as well, report back your findings.
