My car has a knocking sound inside the engine and I have no clue where its coming from and whats wrong with it. I was told it could be, Piston Slap, Valve Lifters, Spun Roller Bearings, Timing belt. My engine is also running very hot. However it did pass the CA Smog Test with very high NO Readings. I just had the oil changed, got a full tank of higher Octane fuel. Still there.

The sound is very pronouced when the car is at operating temp and is even louder under a load. The car shakes between 1500-3000 RPM in 1st and 2nd gear. It stops in 3rd.
Included is 2 videos w/ audio, Thank you.

Hi Tom,

Thank you for the donation.

The noise is from engine internal and most likely one of the con-rod bearings has excessive wear. You would have to drop the oil pan to have a look.

The shaking between 1500 to 300o rpm is most likely a fault with the EGR. Disconnect EGR vacumn and retest if problem goes away.
