What would cause the engine of a car to remain on for a few minutes after the ignition is turned off? Does this have to do with the ignition plugs or the ignition plug wires?

Hi sistasoulja07,

Normally this problem would be present on carburetted models when the idling speed is set too high and the fuel cut solenoid is not functioning properly.

Some people have installed a timer to delay the engine cutting off after the key has been removed. Don't ask me why, I don't know.
