MY 1987 HONDA ACCORD WITH 2.0 CARB ENGINE SMOKES WHEN COLD BUT AS SOON AS THE CHOKE CLOSES THE SMOKE GOES AWAY. COOLANT LEVEL IS FULL AND DOES NOT GO DOWN. OIL LEVEL IS FULL.
I JUST REPLACED THE PLUG WIRES(2 WERE BROKEN) AND THE SPARK PLUGS. ANY IDEAS WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS?
THANKS

Blue smoke could be the piston rings have worn out allowing engine oil to pass into the combustion.
When you start the car in the morning, that oil burn out first then go away.
If the smoke is black, that is related to too much fuel been process inside your engine, that could be a malfunction fuel delivery.
If you get grey smoke, that problem is related to colant.
You won't see a dramatic change in oil level or colant level right now, but over time, the problem will get worse.

IF its white smoke exhaust and the car temp gauge spikes 10-15 min after starting the engine. I assume it related to the coolant -- correct. Is it worht fixing ($)? My car is a faithful 1989 285K mi 4 cy manual Honda Accord.
