Dash indicator light

Four cylinder two wheel drive automatic 120,000 miles.

The indicator light on the dash that tells you if a door is open or a brake light is not working is illuminated and sometimes flickers on and off. The doors are closed and the brake lights are working. Can you tell me why this is happening?

Thanks,
Relicdad

It is not one of the indicators coming on, the issue is that all of them are flickering; the door indicators (all four) the trunk indicator and the brake light indicator. The whole thing is flickering as a unit.

That indicates a possible fault with the integrated control unit plugged into the underdash fuse box.

Do I just replace the control unit? How do I recognize it?

The item is plugged into the underdash fuse box as illustrated in the diagram. you should be able to get one from the junk yard for a reasonable cost.

One of the door is not closing tightly enough to turn the door ajar indicator light off and slight movements of the vehicle is turning the switch on.

Check the door that is being indicated by the warning indicator for wear to the door striker or if the door is out of adjustment.
