1992 Honda Accord overdrive engaging

Transmission problem
1992 Honda Accord 4 cyl Automatic 322360 miles

Had my transmission rebuild (AAMCO) last year and already beyond my waranty and now haveing problems with my overdrive not engaging after startup. Noticed that would hav eto take about 7 miles on highway before it engages (smoothly) like it should. Any idea what could cause this (fluid change/lack of)? How should properly check fluid level.

Hi steveal01,

For your model, there is no overdrive gears, 1st to 4th plus reverse.

If gear shifting is slow, you need to check the fluid level and throttle cable adjustment.

Level should be checked at operating temperature and be within the crossed lines on the dipstick.
