When I start driving my car it sputters really bad and it drops speed, I have to press the gas peddle down to the floor to finally get it up to speed and stop the sputter sounds. It does this every couple of minutes and I cant maintain speed. What could it be?

Do you have a Check engine light on? When was the last tune-up?

Inspect and test all the following listed below:

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.
