Hello, I recently bought a 1997 honda accord, but I noticed that there is what seems to be a a wire box dangling over the gas pedal and I can feel it when I'm driving? The car drives smoothly though, what is the box? I suspect it is just missing a screw of some sort?

also my abs light stays on all the time, the dealer told me it is just a corroded wire, how much would that be to fix?

Hi am06tz,

That could be the control unit of aftermarket alarm and is not properly secured.

As to the ABS light, you need to get a scan done to find out what is wrong. It might be an easy fix or requires a pump reploacement.

Hi am06tz,

What does the cord look like? If it is 2 or 3 pin, then it could be for the Service Check Connector or Data Link Connector

I hope you don't mind my Q's i just want to know beforehand

sometimes when I start my car, there is a slight rumble...nothing outstanding but...I heard this could be a cylinder "misfire" or i could just need new spark plugs??

Hi am06tz,

No problem, anybody can ask any questions and we at 2carpros will try to answer as best as we can.

Looks like the Service Check connector but for 97 models it should be OBD II equipped.

Some connectors are not used as they are for some other accessories which this vehicle is not equipped with.

If there is any misfiring, you would most likely feel some vibrations.

It is not easy to understand and advise on noise problems.
